Ones To Watch: Catfish The TV Show

Catfish

Tonight on MTV Catfish: The TV Show returns for it’s second season of filmmakers Nev Schulman and Max Joseph’s quest to unite people in online relationships and find out if they are the real deal or not.  CATFISH started as a movie in 2010 which followed Nev on his journey as he decided he wanted to meet the girl he was in an online relationship with.  As it turns out, Megan wasn’t the girl of Nev’s dreams after all, she was an older woman using fake pictures to make friends online. Fast forward to 2012 and Nev, along with his buddy Max, brought us Catfish: The TV Show where they travel across America trying to help people in the same situation Nev was.

Season one of the show took us along on the journeys of many young people who come to Nev for help to meet the person they think they love but have never met; one young man is convinced he is talking to a former Miss Teen USA!  The great thing about Catfish: The TV Show is how quickly you become involved with the show and it’s outcome; you will be praying when they meet there’s been no lies or deception and the couple will get their happy ending (spoiler alert: they’re always lying!).  The relationship between the two presenters is also an enjoyable bromance as they play off each other -Nev the ever-optimistic romantic and Max the down-to-earth realist.

The new series promises more intriguing stories, unbelievable meet-ups and maybe even a happy ending! Check out the trailer for season 2 below:

Catfish returns tonight at 9pm on MTV or you can watch the first episode online now.
