Up until the beginning of July, I had no interest in Downton Abbey. I know – shock horror! But I am also someone who doesn’t partake in the very British tradition of drinking tea 24/7. However, after catching glimpses from my Season 1 box set (which I was kindly gifted for Christmas 2012 and have, 7 months later, only just gotten around to watching) I was hooked. After devouring the DVDs, I found that Netflix held the rights to the next two seasons – rejoice! Over the next few weeks I managed to watch both, including the feature-length Christmas specials, up until the bitter, bitter end. Luckily for me a brand new trailer has been released to promote the upcoming fourth season, featuring a lot of gazing into the distance, pondering, mourning and dancing, helping to satisfy my Downton fix.
Hugh Bonneville, Dame Maggie Smith and Michelle Dockery et al return to our television screens in a matter of weeks alongside Hollywood big-hitters Shirley MacLaine and newbie Paul Giamatti. Of course, drama will ensue, especially after the tumultuous ending of last year’s Christmas special (a main character dying in a bloody car crash – yeah, that’s special!). I can’t wait! Alas, for now at least, The Great British Bake Off will have to cure my Blighty telly craving.

Considering Jazmine grew up watching CARRY ON SCREAMING, THE LION KING and JURASSIC PARK on repeat for weeks on end, it made sense for her to study film at London South Bank University. It’s also a good thing that her course requires a lot of sitting down because she’s very accident-prone. When she’s not examining her bruises, she likes pretending that she doesn’t live in Southend-On-Sea and spends hours mindlessly blogging. Favourite films include BLUE VALENTINE, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and TOY STORY 2.
