Reviews for director James Mangold’s X-MEN spin-off sequel, THE WOLVERINE, have certainly been positive (our own right here) after a rather low-key build up. A brand new clip has been released, as well as Hugh Jackman and Mangold discussing their favourite scenes. The latest adventure is based on the celebrated comic book arc that takes the most iconic character of the X-MEN universe to modern day Japan, in effort to see his ‘curse’ of immortality irradiated.
THE WOLVERINE is unleashed on the 26th July and co-stars Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Famke Janssen, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
Next we have the latest clip from another comic-book thrill ride. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is back as the green-suited crime-fighter in KICK-ASS 2. This time he’s battling against Christopher Mintz-Plasse’s rising kingpin Red Mist – now reborn as The Motherfucker. The brilliant Chloe Grace Moretz also returns as the foul-mouthed sidekick assassin Hit Girl as their superhero team-up inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by Jim Carrey’s former mob enforcer Colonel Stars and Stripes.
KICK-ASS 2 will hit cinema screens from 16th August with writer/director Jeff Wadlow taking over duties from Matthew Vaughn for the adaptation of Mark Millar and John Romita Jr.’s bonkers comic-book.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
