The latest take on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic story, THE GREAT GATSBY, sees MOULIN ROUGE’s extravagant director Baz Luhrmann direct. Originally slated for late 2012, most likely to capitalise of Award season, the release date was changed from Boxing Day 2012 to early summer 2013 for reasons we’re still unsure of.
The film is headlined by Leonardo DiCaprio, who takes on the title role of the mysterious Jay Gatsby. His lifestyle of partying, excess and glamour of the 1920s soon catches the eye of newcomer Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire), who witnesses the love, loss, betrayal and greed of the mythic-like heartthrob and his circle of friends.
Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher, Jason Clarke and Elizbeth Debicki co-star in the film hitting US cinemas on 10th May and the UK on 17th May, in 3D. Check out these stunning new posters.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
