Trailer Released For Provocative Comedy Production ‘Passion Play’

What do you do when you discover your husband of several decades decides he wants to upgrade to a younger model? That’s the harsh reality facing Zoe Wanamaker in Peter Nichols’ latest West End production ‘Passion Play’.  Described as a provocative comedy about love, sex and fidelity here’s the official rundown:

Comfortably married for 25 years, James and Eleanor’s world is turned upside down when her husband begins an affair with their young friend Kate.  As the lies mount up, the marriage is stripped bare, revealing illicit desires and hidden passions.  A potent mix of desire, intimacy and deception, this modern classic and winner of the Evening Standard Award for Best Play makes a much-anticipated return to the West End.

Wanamaker, who has won the Oliver award for best actress twice, is joined by Tony Award-winner Tony Teale and Tony-Award nominee Samantha Bond in the play which asks the audience to ponder the question ‘is adultery every justifiable?’

‘Passion Play’ is running for  a strictly limited season at the Duke of York’s Theatre until August 3rd.  Head on over on a Monday for tickets from as little as £10. THN are headed to the play this week so check back soon for our review and in the meantime have a watch of the trailer below to whet your appetite.
