P2 director Franck Khalfoun is the man behind the modern day remake of William Lustig’s 1980 exploitation classic MANIAC. The original film (written by and starring the late, great Joe Spinell), told of demented Frank and his horrific killing spree on the streets of New York City, following years of childhood abuse. Elijah Wood takes over Spinell’s twisted role in a new script penned by horror remake masters Alexandre Aja and Gregory Levasseur.

MANIAC co-stars America Olivo, Nora Arnezeder, Liane Balaban, Megan Duffy, Morgane Slemp, Sal Landi and Sammi Rotibi. The film is slated for cinemas in the UK from the 15th March 2013, while a US release is still to be arranged.
