She recently featured in one of the highest grossing blockbusters of all time, THE AVENGERS ASSEMBLE (as if it needed to be confirmed), and has been much admired for her portrayal of Robin Scherbatsky in HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, so it is no surprise that Cobie Smulders has already been confirmed for at least two more film roles. She will star in the upcoming projects, SAFE HAVEN and THEY CAME TOGETHER.
SAFE HAVEN is based on the novel of the same name, by Nicholas Sparks, and follows protagonist, Katie (Julianne Hough) as she settles into a new life in a small North Carolina town. However, Katie has a dark past that initially puts up a barrier between her and the townsfolk. Soon she must decide whether to move on and continue her transient ways, or to face her demons. The film, which is being directed by Lasse Hallström (SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN), and co-stars Josh Duhamel (TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON) and David Lyons (SWERVE), is due for release in 2013.
THEY CAME TOGETHER is a parody of the romantic comedy genre, and will see Smulders in the role of Paul Rudd’s (I LOVE YOU, MAN) girlfriend. The narrative focuses on a small business owner who is locked in a fierce battle with a major corporation, and is at risk of losing her livelihood. David Wain (WANDERLUST), who co-wrote the script with Michael Showalter (THE BAXTER), and is due to helm the production, will join forces with Rudd for the fifth time on a feature film.
Ms Smulders, who is a former model, is in very high demand at the moment and clearly has a bright future ahead of her.

Martin has been a film buff (or geek, if you prefer) for as long as he can remember. However, he lives and longs for storytelling of all kinds, and writes across numerous mediums to feed his insatiable appetite. He lives in north-west London, and his favourite films are, possibly: PAN'S LABYRINTH, THEY LIVE, PSYCHO, HIGH FIDELITY, ONE FLEW OVER THE CUCKOO'S NEST, STAND BY ME, SIDEWAYS and OFFICE SPACE.
