Guy Pearce has a supporting role in Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS (coming in June), but it’s another sci-fi-thriller we have a glimpse of in the new poster featuring the Aussie actor. LOCKOUT, from the recently-released trailer (which you can view HERE), showed shades of early John Carpenter, with Pearce channelling Kurt Russell’s Snake Pliskin pretty much to a tee (minus the eye patch, of course).
Maggie Grace joins Pearce as the Presidents daughter, unluckily visiting a futuristic space prison when a riot breaks out, leaving her at the mercy of the deadliest criminals known to man. It’s up to ‘Snow’, a framed convict – offered the chance of immunity, to get her back.
The film written and produced by Luc Besson and is in cinemas 20th April.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
