The Walking Dead has continually risen in popularity since its debut almost five years ago. The Comic-based series is one of the highest rated shows across the globe, with its extremely large viewership seemingly increasing after each nail-biting instalment of the gritty, Zombie drama.
With that in mind, it shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise that AMC was looking to expand its flagship series. Much like the undead antagonists of the show itself, the network seems intent on infecting the entire globe with its signature brand of gory survival horror. Now, following the news that the The Walking Dead‘s spin-off/prequel series has been greenlit for two seasons, the show has now receieved an official title!
After numerous internet and tabloid rumours, it has now been confirmed that Robert Kirkman’s baby brother to The Walking Dead will be known as…Fear The Walking Dead. Not the most imaginative or catchy title in the world, but AMC are clearly focussed on making brand recognition a priority here. With the first trailer set to debut sunday night after the season finale of its parent series, viewers can expect marketing to ramp up very soon!
