Coming hot on the heels of yesterday’s first trailer for Paul Potts biopic ONE CHANCE, we’ve casting news to prove the world’s gone f**king mad. The smug tabloid ‘funnyman’ David Walliams, currently hamming it as a judge on Simon Cowell’s sad talent s**tfest Britian’s Got Talent, has joined the cast of the currently-shooting PUDSEY: THE MOVIE (yes, really!) The film comes from Vertigo Films and Cowell’s Syco Entertainment.
It’s been confirmed Walliams will voice Pudsey the dancing dog in a movie directed by Nick Moore with the film now slated for May 2014. Jessica Hynes, John Sessions, Luke Neal , Izzy Meikle-Smith and Luke Tittensor will co-star in the film with the following plot synopsis.
A heartwarming, quintessentially British adventure for all the family, Pudsey: The Movie follows cheeky London stray dog Pudsey who is quite happy being a lone ranger and looking out for number one until he meets siblings Molly (Meikle-Smith), George (Spike White) and Tommy (Malachy Knights). Following her divorce, their mother Gail (Hynes) is moving the family to the sleepy village of Chuffington-on-Sea and Pudsey tags along, to the dismay of their landlord Mr. Thorne and his cat Faustus. As Pudsey starts to settle in with the family and realize what he was missing when he was alone, he stumbles across Thorne and Faustus’ evil plan and he determines to save them and the whole village.
Walliams commented:
I am thrilled to be providing the voice of Pudsey. I have been coming up with different voices for him ever since that first audition.
Sadly they was still no confirmation from Walliams admitting he is indeed a cu*t. However, I think that’s obvious to us all.
Mark Brittain of Syco Entertainment was also paid to say:
We are delighted to be working with Vertigo on this project and particularly thrilled that, little more than a year after Pudsey wowed the nation by winningBritain’s Got Talent, he is now becoming a bona fide film star.
I can’t sodding wait.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

fao : mr craig hunter.
you as with everyone else are entitled to a viewpoint however mine is that you are a very smug opinionated character who is judging something that is still in the early stages of production, therefore should not at this point be castigated by anyone.
I would also like to make you aware that mr walliams is highly thought of and appreciated by most british folk who unlike the majority of americans possess a sense of humour.
