‘Dead Reckoning’ scores $235 million global opening

The new Mission: Impossible film ‘Dead Reckoning’ opened up all over the world this past weekend and the numbers for its takings have been reported. The film scored a massive $235 million globally with $80 million of it coming from North America. Though it was a five-day figure, the money it scored is the franchise’s best opening to date.

The film, once again led by Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, has received pretty passive reviews from critics and fans have been flocking to see the movie on the big screen and in IMAX, too. We really liked it.

In Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team embark on their most dangerous mission yet: To track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands. With control of the future and the fate of the world at stake, and dark forces from Ethan’s past closing in, a deadly race around the globe begins. Confronted by a mysterious, all-powerful enemy, Ethan is forced to consider that nothing can matter more than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.

Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Mariela Garriga, Henry Czerny, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt, Cary Elwes, Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney are also among the impressive cast.

The next instalment is due in cinemas next summer.
