It looks like Jake Gyllenhaal will have to work on those abs again as Amazon MGM Studios has announced that it is pushing forward to a sequel to this year’s Road House. The redo of the Patrick Swayze movie was a huge hit for the streamer and plans for a follow-up are in full swing with Gyllenhaal returning for more action.
Amazon MGM Studio’s Jennifer Salke said in the studio’s upfront presentation on Tuesday:
“As we saw this spring the world went crazy for a little movie called ‘Road House’. Nearly 80 million viewers globally have watched ‘Road House.’ We like to watch these results like a baby.
No word on whether director Doug Liman will return, or anyone else from the first movie, for that matter. We’ll obviously keep you posted on any developments.
