The Lethal Weapon TV series is on the way and should hit our screens this coming September, and we’d all thought that hopes of any more movies had been dashed, but that appears that it may not be the case. Executive producer Dan Lin has been speaking to The Live Feed and commented on the future of the property.
“There’s still potential for Lethal Weapon 5. The feature film, because of [showrunner] Matt [Miller]’s take on the show, they let us extend the series but there may be Lethal Weapon 5 in the future – but for now the focus is 100 percent on the TV series.”
The show stars Chase Crawford and Damon Wayans Sr. who play the Mel Gibson and Danny Glover characters of Martin Riggs and Roger Murtagh. It is a complete reboot which sees Riggs (Crawford) suffer the loss of his wife and baby, so moves to Los Angeles to start a new life. There, he gets partnered with LAPD detective Roger Murtaugh (Wayans), who recently suffered a minor heart attack and must avoid any stress in his life.
The comedy action series will air on ITV in the UK and FOX in the US.
