Alongside the news that, surprisingly, Channel 5 will be showing the upcoming Gotham, we’ve got a brand new preview released to add to the already hyper-marketing for this anticipated series. Straight from Fox, another the Batman and DC villains origin story wasn’t something we knew we needed but early signs weren’t that bad, although I’m personally concerned over the style and vibe, plus the thought that it may become a little too soap-like.
Bruno Heller is the man behind the re-invention, and you’ll know him for The Mentalist and Rome, so there’s a good sign on the latter in terms of visuals and in the first with a touch of cleverness. Gotham follows James Gordon and his rise in the corrupt city that’s on the edge of turning evil forever, plus it will chronicle the birth of many of those well-known DC names and faces on both sides of good and bad.
This preview shows a little of everything, including that now-famous beginning for Bruce Wayne plus you get to see the early days of Penguin, the Riddler, Poison Ivy and Catwoman:
It stars Ben McKenzie, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Zabryna Guevara, Erin Richards, Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett Smith, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova are premieres September 22nd on FOX in the US and an air date to be confirmed on Channel 5.
