The Admiral Won’t Be Back For ‘Battlestar Galactica’ Film

It is with a heavy heart that we must bring you the news that Edward James Olmos will not  make an appearance in the film outing of television show Battlestar: Galactica. That’s right folks, the Admiral that you all know and be love will not be on deck during the film. It wasn’t long ago that THN brought you the news that a series of films were being worked on.

We were lucky enough to meet the great man over the weekend at London’s very own film and comic convention, and whilst he confirmed that they are indeed working on a film, he would not be taking part. His reasoning for this is that they are going off in their own direction and having him appear, not matter how small, would detract from this direction. He did wish the production well and hoped that they would have the time of their lives as he had during the show.

Jamie Bamber who played Olmos’ son in the show echoed the older man’s thoughts, saying that he is looking forward to what the new venture brings, but that he wanted to view it as a fan and not a cast member.
