It seems that Zach Galifianakis is always just one joke away from his next big movie. His recent skit ‘Between Two Ferns‘ with President Obama was a viral explosion with more than 15 million views. Now only days after the skit’s release, news has broken of a new Galifianakis movie coming our way.
Teaming up with Jon Hamm, Zach is attached to star in KEEP UP WITH THE JONESES, which was recently picked up by Fox 2000, with SUPERBAD director Greg Mottola at the helm. While Zach and Jon are still negotiating the terms of their deals, it has been reported that Mottola has already closed his.
KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES is written by Mike LeSieur (YOU, ME AND DUPREE) and follows the story of an idyllic suburban neighbourhood couple who discover that their new neighbours are undercover agents.
The upcoming comedy had already been in development by its producers Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald for a few years, with Galifianakis and Hamm joining the project in the last month. Funny-man Galifianakis is most known for his role in THE HANGOVER series, while Hamm reached stardom as Don Draper in Mad Men and is next to be seen in Disney’s MILLION DOLLAR ARM.
