For someone who was supposed to be retiring, filmmaker Steven Soderbergh is awfully busy. Not content with wowing us with the superb BEHIND THE CANDELABRA last year, Soderbergh is sticking to TV for a while directing a new drama called The Knick.
The Cinemax based show, set in 1900, stars Clive Owen as a doctor working at the Knickerbocker Hospital in New York. The ten-parter ‘centers on the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics.’ Steve Garfanti, Andre Holland, Juliet Rylance, Chris Sullivan and Jeremy Bobb also star.
No news as to when this will debut – we’re being told simply 2014, but here’s the first teaser trailer for it. Enjoy. All 15-seconds of it.
