Washington DC Area Film Critics Association Award Winners

It’s The Washington DC Area Film Critics’ time to name the year’s best. And, though their acting noms included James Franco and Scarlett Johansson, their winners are, in fact, the current main four. Which, though unsurprising, isn’t as exciting as it could have been.

12 YEARS A SLAVE was WAFCA’s big winner, receiving six awards, though Alfonso Cuaron once again pipped Steve McQueen to Best Director. Other winners include Tye Sheridan, BLACKFISH and LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER for my favourite category of all, The Joe Barber Award for Best Portrayal of Washington, DC.
