While we have been a bit reluctant about Fox’s BROADCHURCH remake, we might just be warming up to the idea now we know who will be joining David Tennant. It was announced today that BREAKING BAD’s Anna Gunn and double Oscar nominee Jacki Weaver has signed up to co-star in GRACEPOINT.
Anna Gunn will be stepping in Olivia Colman’s shoes and playing Ellie Miller. In case you missed the ITV crime show (and if you did – WHAT?) Detective Ellie Miller is a happily married wife and mother who finds herself in the running of getting a promotion, but instead it goes to an outsider (Tennant). There is no time to be angry, as the pair have to solve a murder case together, and Ellie finds herself looking at the suspects in her hometown. It has also been revealed that Jacki Weaver will be playing Susan Wright, originally played by Pauline Quirke.
GRACEPOINT will be produced by CAPOTE’s Dan Futterman and IN TREATMENT’s Anya Epstein, while Chris Chibnall will pen the script. It is expected to start shooting sometime in January and set to air late 2014.
