CW’s ‘The Flash’ To Be A Stand-Alone Pilot

If you are a fan of the ol’ DC verse, you might be happy to know that CW’s plan to work The Flash into ARROW has changed completely, instead the introduction will now be a stand-alone pilot.

We will still see Barry Allen, played by ex GLEE and 90210 star Grant Gustin, in ARROW alongside Stephen Amell, Willa Holland and others, but the original plan to introduce The Flash in episode 20 seems to have changed after Gustin’s portrayal of Barry Allen in episode eight and nine went down well with CW bosses. Now we have double the dose of super hero TV goodness and we will now have the big Flash reveal in a stand alone TV pilot, with the same creatives and crew from the original show.

It is unclear whether episode 20 will still involve Barry Allen, but in the ARROW verse (for now) Barry Allen (Gustin) is an assistant police forensics investigator who arrives in Starling to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. A comic book fanboy, Barry is obsessed with the Arrow but is completely unaware that working with Oliver and Felicity to solve the robberies has brought him right into Arrow’s dangerous world.
