The first intense teaser trailer has arrived for writer/director Gareth Evans’ sequel to Indonesian actioner THE RAID (aka in certain territories as THE RAID: REDEMPTION). The follow-up film picks up only hours after the original ended with star Iko Uwais returning as the highly-skilled ass-kicking cop Rama. This time around he’s forced to go undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in a desperate effort to protect his family and uncover the shocking level of corruption in his own police force.
Sony Pictures Classics and Stage 6 Films will release THE RAID 2: BERANDAL early next year. We’ll keep you posted on official release dates for both the UK and US.
THE RAID: BERANDAL co-stars Arifin Putra, Alex Abad, Oka Antara, Tio Pakusadewo, Julie Estelle, Cecep Arif Rahman, Cok Simbara, Yayan Ruhian, Matsuda Ryuhei, Endo Kenichi, and Kitamura Kazuki.
