Like most of us, you probably grew up watching Sir David Attenborough’s commentary and connection with wildlife documentaries and ones that explore the world. Each year, you wonder if there’s anything new but he always manages to give us something amazing, even with a career spanning 60 years of incredible work. We’re now excited to share the news that distributor nWave have picked up the glorious Galapagos 3D for worldwide big-screen coverage, the film explores the unusual Galapagos Islands in the Pacific Ocean and shares their unique creatures.
Colossus Productions put the work together for the original series that’s jointly written and narrated by naturalist and British legend Sir David Attenborough, produced by Anthony Geffen and directed by Martin Williams. On behalf of THN, I actually had the privilege of joining Sir David on a first screening of this series last year, you can read my full article by clicking here!
In the meantime though Eric Dillens, chairman of nWave Studios, had this to say about the upcoming release:
“After successfully launching Penguins 3D earlier this year at major US institutions such as the American Museum of Natural History in New York, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium and Boston’s New England Aquarium, we are excited to again work with Attenborough and Geffen on this remarkable new film that will wow kids and families alike.”
The industry premiere of Galapagos 3D will be held on September 15th in Ottawa, Canada during the Giant Screen Cinema Association 2013 Conference.
