The BBC debuted a new trailer for BURTON AND TAYLOR over the weekend, and we can tell its already going to be 100,000 times better than that Lindsay Lohan as Taylor travesty.
In the BBC’s offering, we see Helena Bonham Carter as Elizabeth Taylor, while THE WIRE’s Dominic West takes on the role of Richard Burton. Burton and Taylor were once Hollywood’s greatest power couple, and were known for their turbulent relationship. BURTON AND TAYLOR will focus on the final reunion of the pair, on the set of the 1983 stage revival of Noel Coward’s PRIVATE LIVES, which was panned by critics but a financial success.
Richard Luxton, known for directing AN ENGLISHMAN IN NEW YORK and BBC3’s HIM AND HER, takes on directing duties, while William Ivory wrote the script. The 90 minute TV movie is expected to air on BBC4 sometime in the autumn. Check out the trailer below:
