Sandra Bullock In Talks To Play Annie’s Miss Hannigan

Sandra Bullock 800x600

The modern day remake of classic musical ANNIE might have grabbed its’ Miss Hannigan – rumours are circling today that the one and only Sandra Bullock has re-opened talks to star in the project as the evil drunkard who runs the orphanage where Annie and her pals are languishing.

Already confirmed for the title role is Quvenzhané Wallis, the nine year old who wrote herself into the record books by becoming the youngest ever actress to earn an Oscar nomination for BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD.  Jamie Foxx is also set to set as a Daddy Warbucks-esque character who will take Annie away from the orphanage to a life she never imagined. The film will be directed by EASY A’s director Will Gluck and music mogul Jay-Z is on board as a producer.

There is also a Broadway production of  ‘Annie’ currently running in New York where it was recently nominated for a Tony Award.  The role of Miss Hannigan is being played on stage by the masterful Jane Lynch.

Bullock, who has slowed down on her acting roles in the last few years, seems to be stepping up a gear recently; we haven’t seen her on screen since 2011’s EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE but this year alone she’s wrapped filming on THE HEAT and GRAVITY. Aside from Annie, Bullock has also lined up MINIONS and THE HEAT 2 for 2014.

We don’t know about you but regardless of whether they keep the original songs or add a modern twist we can’t wait to see Sandra Bullock belting out a version of ‘Little Girls!’
