Frequent Christopher Nolan collaborator Wally Pfister (cinematographer on all of Nolan’s big-screen efforts) has added another Batman veteran to the cast of his directorial debut TRANSCENDENCE.
Pfister has tapped ‘The Scarecrow’ himself, Cillian Murphy, to play one of three male leads in the sci-fi thriller. The Irish actor will join Johnny Depp, Paul Bettany, Kate Mara and previous Nolan-ders Rebecca Hall (THE PRESTIGE) and Morgan Freeeman (THE DARK KNIGHT trilogy) in the story rumoured to centre on genius scientist whose brain gets uploaded into a supercomputer following his death.
The film is due to hit cinemas from 25th April 2014.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
