There’s only a couple of days left before we’ll see Bilbo Baggin’s venture on his ‘unexpected journey’ outside the peace and tranquility of The Shire, for Peter Jackson’s LORD OF THE RINGS prequel. Martin Freeman plays the titular hero plucked for a treacherous adventure that will see us revisit some familiar places, friends and foes.
It feels like the last few weeks and months, the studio behind the trio of Middle-earth efforts, have made damn sure we’re not to forgot the film is on the road to the big-screen, offering up a mountain of promotional posters, trailers, featurettes and television spots. And speaking of the latter, we’ve yet another couple for THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY.
The film will co-star Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood, Ian Holm, Richard Armitage, James Nesbitt, Andy Serkis, Benedict Cumberbatch, Christopher Lee, Lee Pace, Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchette. We’ve also added the first images for the follow-up sequels, THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG and THE HOBBIT: THERE & BACK AGAIN, for those who may have missed them.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
