Jane Goldman is set to rewrite PINOCCHIO for Warner Bros. The film is a possible vehicle for both Tim Burton and Robert Downey Jr. a pair I would love to see working together. However, neither of them has officially signed on to the project. Goldman, who has written some great films in the last few years such as STARDUST (2007), KICK-ASS (2010), X-MEN FIRST CLASS (2011) and THE WOMAN IN BLACK (2012), is set to rewrite the screenplay, originally put forward by PUSHING DAISIES and DEAD LIKE ME creator Bryan Fuller. Since he’s mostly worked in television, perhaps the script needed a bit of a cinematic punch-up.
This project actually sounds quite exciting, as it has Burton dealing with a misfit character, a star that isn’t Johnny Depp, and some different writing talent for Burton to work with. They may want to get a move-on though, as there are plenty of other adaptations waiting in the wings, such as Guillermo Del Toro’s stop-motion animated version and 20th Century Fox’s THE THREE MISFORTUNES OF GEPETTO .

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
