THE JUDGE is all set to be Robert Downey Jr.’s next role once he finishes on a little project called IRON MAN 3. The film, which Downey Jr. will also produce for Warner Bros., has just undergone its second rewrite, this time by Bill Dubuque, after the original script from Nick Schenk and a rewrite from David Seidler. Warner Bros. has now officially offered a role to the legend himself, Jack Nicholson. Nicholson has been given the chance to star as Downey’s estranged father, who suffers from Alzheimer’s and is suspected of murder.
The 75 year old Nicholson, has slowed down in recent years, only making six films in the last decade. David Donkins is set to direct THE JUDGE, which Downey Jr. will produce along with Susan Downey and David Gambino via Team Downey. Dobkin and his producing partner Jeff Kleeman will also take a producing credit. There’s no guarantee at this stagewhether Nicholson will appear or not, but let’s cross our fingers, because we just don’t see enough of the man these days.
