‘The Bourne Legacy’ Wins As ‘The Campaign’ Trails

$40.2 million is a lot of money. However, THE BOURNE LEGACY team and studio could be forgiven for wanting more. The (rumoured) $125 million reboot performed well at the US Box Office on its opening weekend but expectation would have been nearer the $50 million mark. Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis’ duet THE CAMPAIGN opened to an impressive $27.4 million in second place, a figure that should make studio heads happy.

Elsewhere, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES stays in third having scooped $390 million total in the US well ahead of TOTAL RECALL in 6th place with only $8.1 million for the weekend – Colin Farrell’s ego must be taking a knock this week. THE WATCH is almost out of sight at 10 with TED in eighth having grossed $209 million since release.

Sam is a bloody lovely lad born and raised in Bristol (he’s still there and can’t escape). Favourite films include THE LOST BOYS, DRIVE, FIGHT CLUB and COMMANDO, well pretty much any 1980s Arnie film you can throw his way…even RED SONJA. Sam once cancelled a Total Film subscription after they slagged off Teen Wolf. He resubscribed 2 days later.
