Jackman Turns Tramp For The Wolverine!

After the absolutely dire double bill of X-MEN: THE LAST STAND and X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, the franchise that originally set the precedent for the comic-book genre looked dead in the water. Thankfully, Matthew Vaughn’s prequel – X-MEN: FIRST CLASS – showed us all was not lost and recent news he’ll return to helm a follow-up entitled X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST should have us all excited.

However, before then we’ll get to see Hugh Jackman reprise his signature role as adamantium-clawed mutant Logan in THE WOLVERINE. The film is currently shooting in Australia, with COPLAND and WALK THE LINE director James Mangold overseeing the project. Following some set shoots seen last week, we have some images of the superstar lead actor turning all hobo (and looking more like his character from forthcoming musical LES MISERABLES) for the actioner that will be mostly shot in Tokyo. THE WOLVERINE is expected in cinemas next summer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
