‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Confirmed By Bryan Singer

It’s Marvel Movie Madness here today. In an interview with IGN, producer Bryan Singer confirmed that the sequel to X-MEN: FIRST CLASS will be titled X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. This is huge news for X-Men fans, as Days of Future Past was one of the most ambitious storylines in the comics. It was first published in 1981 and deals with an alternative future in which mutants were kept in internment camps and the US is ruled by Sentinels; giant robots alluded to in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND.

The talk of an alternate future and time-travel would be an excellent way of bridging the gaps between the X-Men franchises and ignoring those elements that contradicted each other. It may also allow for cameos or even meatier roles from the likes of McKellen and Stewart. Singer speaks about branching out the franchise and connecting it in certain ways.

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST is released 17th July 2014. It will once again be directed by Matthew Vaughan and written by Jane Goldman.
