We are a little behind with our film news here at THN Towers. It all has something to do with certain Royal Wedding and the copious amounts of alcohol and partying in the streets of London that followed. Yes, we’ve had a good one, but bck to work with a bang! Here’s an article that hit over the weekend. It seems that THE EAGLE star Channing Tatum is all set to star in a Steven Soderergh directed movie about…. male stripping.
The film will be called MAGIC MIKE, and according to Deadline will be a story of friendship based on Tatum’s teenae years in the world of stripping. Yes, you’re reading that right, at the age of 19, Tatum started out as a male stripper!
Soderbergh had this to say about the project.
“When Channing talked to me about this, I thought it was one of the best ideas I’d ever heard for a movie. I said I wanted in immediately. It’s sexy, funny and shocking. We’re using Saturday Night Fever as our model, so hopefully we’re on the right track.”
Tatum added, “This was a wild and pivotal time in my life and I couldn’t be more thrilled to go down the rabbit hole with Steven.”
We can’t wait to see that rabbit hole… and we all thought that Soderbergh was retiring.
