Mark Wahlberg’s attached, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci‘s places are ready and awaiting the end of the “in talks” stage, and it seems that UNCHARTED: DRAKE’S FORTUNE is all coming together nicely. But what, you may be wondering, does writer/director David O. Russell have to say about the video game adaptation? Well wonder no more people, because he recently talked to 24 Frames to explain just that. The scripts about halfway finished he says, but what he’s most interested in, is looking into Nathan Drake’s family matters…
“This idea really that turns me on is that there’s a family that’s a force to be reckoned with in the world of international art and antiquities… [a family] that deals with heads of state and heads of museums and metes out justice, […] We’ll have the family dynamic, which we’ve done in a couple of movies now… And then you take that and put it on the bigger, more muscular stage of an international action picture, but also put all the character stuff in it. That’s a really cool idea to me.”
Columbia Pictures have not yet confirmed a release date.
