The X-Factor and Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell has backed Conservative leader David Cameron to be the next prime minister. The music mogul sent an open letter to The Sun newspaper saying that while Gordon Brown is a “sincere man who I respect”, he questioned the “energy” the PM has to lead the country.
Speaking of Cameron, Cowell said: “I have met David on two occasions. I liked him immediately. I have always trusted my gut instinct – and this was a guy who I thought would do the right things for this country.
“I believe he is the Prime Minister Britain needs at this time. He has substance and the stomach to navigate us through difficult times.” He added.
The British general election takes place tomorrow (May 6, 2010).
