Eunice Gayson, the original Bond girl from Dr. No has sadly died at the age of 90. The actress, who would later appear in the likes of From Russia With Love, The Saint and The Avengers, portrayed the role of Sylvia Trench in the very first 007 adventure, opposite Sean Connery as James Bond.
Her Twitter profile announced the news of her death late Friday, saying that she was “an amazing lady who left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She will be very much missed.”

I had the honour of interviewing her for the 50th anniversary Blu-ray editions of the Bond series back in 2012 and absolutely echo those words. She was a delightful lady full of anecdotes of her time working on the iconic series.
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli also said in a statement on Twitter; “We are so sad to learn that Eunice Gayson, our very first ‘Bond girl’ who played Sylvia Trench in ‘Dr. No’ and ‘From Russia With Love’ has passed away. Our sincere thoughts are with her family.”
