The new Scorched Earth trailer has arrived online. The film, which stars former MMA star Gina Carano and John Hannah (Four Weddings and a Funeral), will arrive in select U.S. cinemas and on VOD on February 2nd. The film revolves around a bounty hunter named Atticus Gage (Carano) who tracks down criminals in a post-apocalyptic Earth.
Here’s the official synopsis for Scorched Earth.
The planet has suffered an environmental collapse; the air became dangerous to breathe, the water became toxic, and billions of people died. Generations later, mankind has finally re-established a rudimentary society, in an attempt to pick up the pieces that continue to blister in the sun. Attica Gage (Gina Carano) is a bounty hunter with a chance at the bounty of a lifetime: to bring down the ruthless outlaw, Elijah Jackson. Gage infiltrates Jackson’s gang, and everything is going to plan until she meets a slave girl who reminds her of her dead sister. With her loyalty to only herself now tested, Gage learns that there might be more to life than just survival.

Peter Howitt (Sliding Doors, Johnny English) is directing the film from a screenplay by Kevin Leeson and Bobby Mort. As far as I can see, the film doesn’t yet have a release date set for the UK, but we’ll obviously keep you updated as to whether that changes.
Carano will also be seen in the Jason Mewes-directed Madness In The Method later this year, while Hannah appears in the remake of the 1980s movie Overboard, which opens in the spring. He will also feature in Bart Ruspoli and Freddie Hutton-Mills’ sci-fi movie Genesis. also due at some point this year.
