Allegiant posters

A couple of The Divergent Series: Allegiant posters have landed online. The series of two new promos feature our two heroes, played by Shailene Woodley and Theo James, and have a very cuddly theme to them. You’ll see what we mean.

The third installment of the blockbuster Divergent series franchise, Allegiant takes Tris (Shailene Woodley) and Four (Theo James) into a new world, far more dangerous than ever before. Jeff Daniels has joined the cast of the new movie, making his series debut with Allegiant.

After the earth-shattering revelations of Insurgent, Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love.

Octavia Spencer, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, Daniel Dae Kim, Rebecca Pidgeon, Xander Berkeley, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jonny Weston, Bill Skarsgård, Nadia Hilker, Andy Bean and Naomi Watts also star in the big-budget sequel, which arrives on our screens on March 10th, 2016 (UK).

The fourth film in the series, Ascendant will also be filmed next year for a 2017 release. It means that Lionsgate would have had a Divergent film in cinemas every year since 2013, which is quite an achievement and indeed commitment fo such a high-profile, big-budget series.

A prequel novel also exists in the Divergent series. Titled ‘Four’, it’s not known if the novel will be filmed. We’re supposing it all depends on how the next two movies do. So far they have been profitable, bringing in over $750 million in box-office takings from a budget of just under $200 million. Not bad.
