This past October saw the straight-to-DVD release of the sixth instalment of the CHILD’S PLAY franchise. Why Universal saw fit to go in that direction, God only knows, because CURSE OF CHUCKY is without a doubt the best of the sequels (and possibly even the whole franchise). Thanks in part to a terrific final 10 minutes and post credits sequence bringing the pint-sized demonic doll’s journey full circle.
Well, for fans of the guilty pleasure horror franchise, creator Don Mancini has some good news with a tweet that hints that a seventh film has been given the green light and one that suggests Fiona Dourif’s wheelchair-bound character Nica and her niece Alice (Summer Howell) will feature. Expect the brilliant Brad Dourif to return to voice the killer ‘Good Guy’.
To the fans who’ve asked questions about Alice and the end of #CurseofChucky: All will be answered in part 7!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
