Bruce Willis Actioner ‘The Prince’ Lands A Strong Supporting Cast!

casting-news-slice-7

Lately, it seems like the legendary Bruce Willis just can’t be arsed. More often than not he’s phoning performances in, while his promotional work is even more embarrassing. Fingers crossed the strong supporting cast being assembled for THE PRINCE sees the DIE HARD actor inspired to bring his best for actor/writer/director Brian A. Miller with him playing the chief villain.

Well, I say “strong” but it does include Curtis “50 Pence” Jackson. However, the rapper (or crapper as I like to call them) recently turned in decent performances in THE FROZEN GROUND and ESCAPE PLAN. In addition, they’ll be joined by fellow FROZEN GROUND stars John Cusack, Gia Mantegna as well as Jason Patric (SLEEPERS), Johnathon Schaech (Ray Donovan) and international pop-star-turned-actor Rain (SPEED RACER).

THE PRINCE has a focus on a family man (played by Patric) whose secret past as a high-level Las Vegas mob enforcer is exposed when his daughter is kidnapped. He’s forced him to return to Sin City to find her and seek revenge. Patric is an actor I’ve always liked and whose career took a hit after the awful SPEED 2. He’s given terrific performances in the likes of THE LOST BOYS (1987), RUSH (1991) and NARC (2002), so it’s great to see him amongst a solid cast in what appears to be the leading role.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
