1465811_535685216514709_883388201_oTHN love an original event and on Sunday 1st December the flicker club will host a unique Finale screening of Richard Curtis’ summer hit ABOUT TIME, with a special personal introduction from the man who brought us FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, NOTTING HILL and LOVE ACTUALLY. For those special event at Bounce, the home of ping pong, your ticket would included the movie, a rare chat with the director AND ping pong. What more could you possibly need?!

Telling the story of a rather exceptional trait in the males of one family, ABOUT TIME has been applauded by critics and cinema-goers alike. At the age of 21, the night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim Lake (Domhnall Gleeson) if informed by his father (Bill Nighy) that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. Tim can’t change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life – so he decides to make his world a better place – by getting a girlfriend (Rachel McAdams). Funnily enough, this is a trickier plan than it might seem…

the flicker club are proud to be hosting this special event at Bounce as this setting holds a special place with Richard Curtis:

“When I was young, my Dad and I played table tennis all the time. From when I was 6 to when I was 21, every day we were together, we played in the garage. How did I not notice that I always just won by three points – that he was always better than me, but always let me just come out on top? One of the key relationships of ‘About Time’ is between the lead actor and his father. Their friendship is centred around the two sides of a table tennis table, and that’s why we’re having this ‘Finale’ screening of ‘About Time‘ at Bounce – where my sons and I have had our own tournaments, and, well, they’ve let me win…”

Located in Holborn, on the very site where the game of ping pong was invented and patented in 1901 by John Jaques III, Bounce boasts both the London 2012 Olympic and World Championship Final tables – both freely available along with great vintage ping pong memorabilia on display with and pro bats for sale.

THN highly recommend the venue and this event looks set to make it even more awesome, get your tickets now on the link below and find them on Twitter right here: @theflickerclub @bouncepingpong #AboutTimeBounce
