Earlier this week we reported on potential casting on the all-female action spin-off THE EXPENDABELLES. Yes, Sylvester Stallone’s crazy creation, which is currently shooting its second sequel with Patrick Hughes at the helm, is set to blossom with a group of lovely, ass-kicking ladies leaving the kitchen (sorry) and cleaning up their own chaos. We already know HAYWIRE’s Gina Carano, YOU’RE NEXT’s Sharni Vinson and RIDDICK’s Katee Sackhoff are in the cast with the producers wanting to keep the feminine aspect and have targeted a female director.
Well, it’s looking like GREEN STREET (HOOLIGANS) and the underrated PUNISHER: WAR ZONE director Lexi Alexander could be the name to let these ladies loose. She’s tweeted a message with an image of the front page of the script suggesting she’s definitely interested!
This just arrived. I’m reading it asap because of all your kind messages, emails and blogs about me being their fave pic.twitter.com/nVY4JxwkB0

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.

Great choice! Do it Lexi–only if you think the script is worth it!
