Atmospheric First Trailer For Vincenzo Natali’s ‘Haunter’ Starring Abigail Breslin

Earlier in the week we brought you the first impressive poster and stills from CUBE and SPLICE director Vincenzo Natali‘s supernatural suspense thriller, HAUNTER.  Abigail Breslin leads the film as a dead girl who is forever reliving her final day 1985, when she and her family were killed. The first eerie trailer has arrived which doesn’t give away away anything specific that we don’t already know, but fingers crossed HAUNTER isn’t as run-of-the-mill as it looks.

Lisa Johnson is one day shy of her sixteenth birthday. And she will be forever. She and her family are dead and doomed to repeat that fateful last day before they were all killed in 1985. Only Lisa has “woken up” and realises what is going on. She starts to feel as if she is being haunted, but the “ghost” turns out to be Olivia, a very much alive girl who lives in the house in the present day with her own family. With her help, Lisa discovers that the house once belonged to a serial killer who kidnapped teenage girls and burned their remains in a hidden furnace room. When he died, he became a Haunter – a powerful, evil spirit able to possess the living.

HAUNTER also features Stephen McHattie, Peter Outerbridge, Michelle Nolden, David Hewlett and opens in US cinemas and VOD in the US on 18th October.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
