I’ve been a huge fan of Steven Coogan’s flippant and tragic talkshow host, Alan Partridge, since he first appeared on television in THE DAY TODAY. There was then KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU, his Linton Travel Tavern downfall in I’M ALAN PARTRIDGE, the recent resurgence on North Norfolk Digital’s MID MORNING MATTERS and his genius autobiography ‘I, Partridge: Lets Talk About Alan’.
Now it’s been confirmed that production has begun on ALAN PARTRIDGE: THE MOVIE as he collaborates once again with Armando Iannucci and Peter Baynam. The film will be directed by Declan Lowney and we can confirm a host of familiar faces will appear alongside Norwich’s favourite son.
Felicity Montagu, (put-upon PA Lynne), Tim Key (Sidekick Simon), Simon Greenall (Geordie pal Michael), Phil Cornwell (DJ nemesis Dave Clifton), and Darren Boyd (Daniel Langford) all return from previous shows. The rest of the cast is rounded out by Nigel Lindsay, Colm Meany , Sean Pertwee, Monica Dolan and Anna Maxwell Martin.
Excited? A-HA!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
