We’re quite excited about seeing Sam Raimi’s prequel to the beloved classic THE WIZARD OF OZ, with OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL. The cast gathered also has a lot to with that, with the ever-talented James Franco headlining alongside a host of acting beauties with Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams and Mila Kunis as a trio of (friendly or ferocious) witches looking to see how his arrival affects those living in the Emerald City in fulfilling a prophecy.
The trailers and previous poster designs suggest a magical, family-focused fantasy film and this new Japanese poster certainly adds to that tone.
OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL will land in cinemas 8th March 2013 and co-stars Zach Braff, Abigail Spencer, Joey King, Bill Cobbs and Tony Cox (possibly representing those in the The Lollipop Guild).
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
