THE WIZARD OF OZ was a classic regularly shown in my household during my childhood. After 73 years we’ll finally get to see how it all began for Oscar Diggs and just what role he played in becoming OZ: THE GREAT & POWERFUL, the ruler of the Emerald City in Sam Raimi’s forthcoming fantasy follow-up.
James Franco reunites with Raimi after playing a supporting role in the directors’ superhero SPIDER-MAN franchise. He takes the title role of a circus magician with far more ambition than his talents. Stunning support comes in the form of bitching witches Mila Kunis, Rachael Weisz and Michelle Williams, whose friendly relationship turn frightfully sour when jealousy sets in leaving the land of Oz dangerously on the brink of destruction.
Following yesterdays completed banner poster, we’ve the second trailer for the film due in cinemas 8th March 2013.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
