Any project involving Tobe Hooper is sure to attract interest from any horror movie fanatic. Responsible for important and iconic features as THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and POLTERGEIST, Hooper’s latest venture back into horror has an all-new trailer. DJINN tells the supernatural tale of a couple who return home to United Arab Emirates after a stint living in the US. Once settled back into their home, it soon becomes apparent something has changed, and not for the better. Check out the trailer below.
The last two decades of Hooper’s output has never hit the heights of his previous early directorial efforts, but fans are always eager to see if we might one day see that return. This latest trailer for DJINN certainly does not appear to show that return to form, but the length and pace of the trailer (almost four minutes) does not help either.
The film, shot entirely on location in Abu Dhabi, stars Khalid Laith, Paul Luebke and Aiysha Hart. No word as yet on a release date.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
