SALT helmer Phillip Noyce has been confirmed as the director of the planned remake of BLOODSPORT, based on the original 1980’s Jean Claude Van Damme movie of the same name, which, let’s face it, was/is awesome.
Screen Daily report the news, and add that “the story will follow an American who goes to Brazil to recover from the violence he has experienced in Afghanistan who gets involved in a martial arts contest.”
No news on who will headline the movie. We can only hope that they will see the light and cast The Rock – sorry, Dwayne Johnson.
Robert Mark Kamen wrote the script for the new movie.
