The anticipated pilot for THE MUNSTERS reboot MOCKINGBIRD LANE wasn’t a hit amongst those at NBC and as such, decided against giving the project a full season. Instead the footage has been edited together as a Halloween special that will air on US television on Friday. Portia De Rossi, Jerry O’Connell and Eddie Izzard will headline as Lily, Herman and Grandpa Munster respectively, which I suspect may return and make the network think again, if MOCKINGBIRD LANE is a ratings hit.
Here we have a couple of clips and a gory image from the special co-written by PUSHING DAISIES’ Bryan Fuller and directed by THE USUAL SUSPECTS and X-MEN’s Bryan Singer.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
