The astonishing box-office success of Hammer Films’ THE WOMAN IN BLACK was always going to draw up the possibility of a sequel despite its bleak, bone-chilling ending. Although the films’ star Daniel Radcliffe won’t be returning (he’s currently shooting another horror, Alexandre Aja’s HORNS), the grim ghostly apparition will, as her dark extravagant abode becomes a place for veterans to recuperate during war torn Britain in THE WOMAN IN BLACK: ANGELS OF DEATH.
Rising director Tom Harper is now confirmed as being the man to terrify audiences again and taking over the original film’s James Watkins. He’s responsible for work on a number of hit Brit series such as THIS IS ENGLAND 86, MISFITS and DEMONS. His most recent work was on a television reworking of Mary Norton’s children’s books, THE BORROWERS.
We’ll keep you posted on any casting developments.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
