STAR TREK fans across the UK will be able to boldly go where no man has gone before with the new ‘Beam Me Up’ App, to be launched by CBS Action at this year’s Destination Star Trek London. The official App, the first of its kind in the UK, will allow visitors to follow in the footsteps of their STAR TREK idols and watch their friends beam themselves ‘up’ right before their eyes
Fans will stand on a specially designed STAR TREK transporter platform installed at the event, align their phone with their friend’s silhouette and literally watch them disappear. Once transportation is complete, the phone user will receive a unique mid ‘beam up’ image to share with friends and through social media. The ‘Beam Me up App,’ unlike many other augmented reality mechanisms, allows users to capture an image of the experience to share with friends. It also features extra star cast interviews. The App will be available for iPhone and Android Phones, and downloadable free of charge from iTunes and Android stores and if you scroll down the page, you’ll get your first sneak peek!
DSTL will also be the first event in the world to see all five legendary captains together, in one place! William Shatner (Captain Kirk – Star Trek: The Original SeriesTM) will be joined by the UK’s Sir Patrick Stewart (Captain Picard – Star Trek: The Next GenerationTM), Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko – Star Trek: Deep Space NineTM), Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway – Star Trek: VoyagerTM) and Scott Bakula (Captain Archer – Star Trek: EnterpriseTM), who will be present alongside a host of other celebrity actors, writers and producers across the three day event.
Find out all the information over on our previous posts and we hope to see you there! ‘DESTINATION STAR TREK LONDON’ will be an unmissable event for both hardcore fans of the show and for people who are curious about the STAR TREK universe!
